About The Queen

Queen Zubeia creating animations

Creating Animations

My journey as an animator began centuries ago, when I first discovered the joy of bringing stories to life through movement and magic. As the Archdragon of the Sky, I found that animation allowed me to capture the essence of flight and freedom that defines my connection to the Sky Arcanum.

Through my animations, I seek to build bridges between all the peoples of Xadia. In the wake of centuries of division, I believe that art has the power to unite elves, humans, and magical creatures in understanding and empathy. Each piece I create is infused with sky magic, giving my animations a distinctive flowing quality that mirrors the ever-changing winds.

Working primarily as a solo artist, I have created numerous animated shorts that tell the stories of Xadia's rich history and diverse inhabitants. My most personal work explores the themes of loss, renewal, and the enduring bonds between parent and child—inspired by my own journey with my son, Azymondias.

Who I Am

My Identity

I am Zubeia, Queen of the Dragons and guardian of the Sky Nexus. For countless centuries, I have watched over the magical lands of Xadia from my home at the Storm Spire, the highest peak in all the realm and the source of the most powerful sky magic.

As the Archdragon of the Sky, I command the primal magic of the heavens. The storms bow to my will, and the winds carry my voice across the realm. With a single breath, I can summon lightning that splits the sky, or gentle breezes that carry messages to the farthest corners of Xadia. The clouds themselves reshape at my command, and the very air trembles with my power.

I am the last of the royal line of Sky dragons, tasked with maintaining the balance between all magical creatures of Xadia. My wisdom guides the council of Archdragons, and my judgment is respected by all. For generations, my ancestors have served as the ultimate arbiters of justice and peace in our lands, a responsibility I carry with both pride and humility.

The Sky Nexus at the Storm Spire is my sacred charge - a place where the boundary between our world and the raw power of the Sky Arcanum grows thin. Here, I can commune with the ancient spirits of the air and draw upon powers that few beings can comprehend. It is both my throne and my sanctuary.

Though I have lived for centuries, witnessing the rise and fall of many civilizations, my heart remains devoted to the protection of my son, Azymondias, the Dragon Prince, and the future of peaceful coexistence between all beings of Xadia. After the darkness of grief and the long sleep that followed, I have awakened to a world changed - one where humans and elves have shown that cooperation is possible, and where my son may grow to lead a united realm.

I am no longer merely a guardian of the border or a symbol of division. I am now a bridge between worlds, a keeper of ancient wisdom, and a mother who hopes for a better future for all who dwell beneath the sky.

My Story

The tale of my life, from ancient times to the present day

For many centuries, I ruled alongside my mate, King Avizandum, also known as Thunder. Together, we maintained the border between Xadia and the Human Kingdoms, ensuring that dark magic would not threaten the magical creatures under our protection.

Our reign was one of prosperity for Xadia. The elven kingdoms flourished under our watchful eyes, and the other Archdragons respected our authority. The Moonshadow elves served as our most trusted agents, while the Sunfire elves maintained their great city of Lux Aurea as a beacon of magical power.

Avizandum was fierce in his protection of our borders, swift to challenge any human who dared cross into our lands seeking magical creatures for their dark spells. I admired his strength and dedication, though at times I wondered if there might be another way to maintain peace.

When I learned I was with egg, our joy knew no bounds. Azymondias would be the future of dragonkind, a prince who would one day rule after us and continue our legacy of protecting Xadia. Little did I know how quickly our happiness would turn to tragedy.

Lux AureaRecent

The Sunfire Forge Rekindled

General Amaya

Katolis

After months of collaborative work between Sunfire elves and human engineers, the Sunforge has been fully restored. The corruption left by Aaravos has been cleansed, and the light now shines as brightly as ever. This marks a significant milestone in our alliance with the Sunfire elves. The combined knowledge of elven magic and human innovation has proven more powerful than either alone.

Mysterious Ruins Discovered

Claudia

Xadia

I've found something... interesting. Ancient ruins buried beneath the forests near the Silvergrove. The markings suggest they predate even the division of Xadia. There are symbols I've never seen before, and magic that feels... different. I'm still investigating, but I thought you should know, Queen Zubeia. Some things are better not left buried. The power here could change everything we know about magic.

First Human-Elven School Opens

King Ezran

Katolis

Today marks the opening of the first school where both human and elven children will learn together! Located at the border between Katolis and Xadia, this school represents our hope for the future. Young humans will learn about primal magic, while elven children will discover human innovation and culture. Bait is particularly excited about teaching the glow toad communication class! This is just the beginning of a new era of understanding.

Dragon Hatchlings Spotted

Rayla

Xadia

I've just returned from the Eastern Mountains where I witnessed something remarkable - a clutch of three Earth dragon hatchlings taking their first flights! It's the first new dragon births since Zym, and everyone is taking it as a sign of Xadia's healing. The mother dragon allowed me to approach and even touch one of the hatchlings. Their scales felt like warm stone, and they already have quite the appetite for minerals.

Startouch Elf Sighting

Lujanne

Xadia

Last night during the full moon, a Startouch elf visited the Moon Nexus. They spoke of cosmic alignments and ancient prophecies. I've never seen one before - their skin truly does shimmer like the night sky itself. They asked many questions about the Dragon Prince and his connection to the Sky arcanum. They left before dawn, but promised to return when 'the stars align.' I believe we should prepare for significant magical events in the coming months.

Dark Magic Reforms Proposed

Callum

Katolis

I've been working with the royal mages on a controversial proposal - regulated dark magic research. Before you worry, Queen Zubeia, this isn't about harming magical creatures. We're exploring if dark magic can be performed using only plants or already-shed materials like fallen scales or hair. If we can establish ethical boundaries, perhaps we can heal the divide between human magic needs and Xadian concerns. I'd welcome your wisdom on this delicate matter.

Messages to the Queen

Words from allies and friends across the realms

"Your Majesty, the alliance between our kingdoms grows stronger each day. The children of Katolis now learn of the Sky arcanum in our schools, and many dream of visiting the Storm Spire one day. Zym's portrait hangs in our great hall, a reminder of the peace we've forged together."

— King Ezran of KatolisReceived: Full Moon, Month of Stars

"Queen Zubeia, I hope this message finds you well. I've been continuing my studies of the Sky arcanum, and I believe I've discovered a new spell that might interest you. It allows for communication across vast distances using the winds themselves as messengers. Perhaps one day, we could use it to speak directly, without the need for written words."

— Callum, Prince of KatolisReceived: Waning Crescent, Month of Storms
